Concert to pay tribute to Aretha Franklin

The Casino Theater, Vandergrift, will present, “United in Song,” a tribute to Aretha Franklin, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

High school bands to play at Kennywood Park

Local high school marching bands participating this week in the Fall Fantasy Parade at Kennywood Park in West Mifflin include Burrell High School on Wednesday and Apollo-Ridge High School on Thursday.


Free movie offered at Hartwood Acres

The free Allegheny County Movies in the Parks series will feature the film, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hartwood Acres Amphitheater, Indiana Township.

The movie is rated PG-13. Gates open at 7 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair.


Free grab and go lunch offered Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Church of God

Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, will serve free grab and go lunches at noon Wednesday.
